Destructible Labels

Destructible cryo labels

Tamper-evident destructible cryogenic labels are coated with an extra-permanent adhesive, especially designed for extreme low-temperature storage. Once applied, this aggressive adhesive ensures the labels cannot be removed without being destroyed. As such, any attempt to open or access the content will destroy the seal, making it impossible for tampering to go unnoticed, ideal for pharmaceutical and biomedical research laboratories, pharmacies, IVF clinics, cell banks and tissue banks, bio-repositories and any industry that handles sensitive or hazardous material.

Waterproof, wear and tear proof and able to withstand multiple freeze-thaw cycles, these tamper-evident labels are ideal for sealing and identification of microtubes (1 and 1.5 ml), cryo vials (1 and 2 ml), cryo boxes as well as other cryogenic containers, that are stored in freezers (-20ºC, -40ºC, -80ºC, -120ºC), liquid and vapour phase liquid nitrogen (-196ºC) or transported in dry ice (-78ºC). An overlap of at least 1/8th of an inch is required for small diameter tubes and vials to ensure proper adhesion in liquid phase liquid Nitrogen; no overlap is needed at -80ºC and above.

Weatherproof, these destructible labels are also able to withstand a range of extreme conditions, from UV and gamma irradiation (50 KGy tested) to boiling water (+100ºC for 5 minutes). Coupled with their resistance to extreme low temperatures, and water and abrasion resistance, this makes them suitable for outdoor applications and a host of  other products including frozen food containers, plastic bags, envelopes, CD cases and other containers where a tamper-evident seal is required.

The labels are compatible with all major brands of thermal-transfer printers including CAB, SATO, Intermec, Printronix, Datamax-O’Neil, Zebra and more, or can be inscribed with permanent markers. GA International also provides tamper-evident tape in an assortment of colours facilitating quick and easy identification.

These labels are also resistant to standard ethylene oxide gas sterilization, consisting of a 60-minute exposure to 759mg/L of ethylene oxide gas, at 55oC, and 40-80% relative humidity, followed by a two-hour aeration cycle.

GA International is the manufacturer of cryogenic destructible labels for use in liquid nitrogen and freezers.
