FTT - XyliTUFF™ Labels

banner-xyleneresistantlabels-ftt.jpg

Specifically designed for use in histology and cytology labs, XyliTUFF™ labels are ideally suited for long-term identification of microscope slides, used for tissue histochemical staining, tissue cassettes, routinely used during the processing of biopsy samples and in paraffin wax embedding, slide boxes and other containers. For a chemical resistant printout, we recommend our TC-class of xylene resistant ribbons, which provide resistance to xylene, toluene, alcohols, hexane, acetone, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), acetonitrile (ACN) in addition to other chemicals and solvents.

Intended for use on flat surfaces, these solvent resistant labels are coated with a permanent chemical resistant adhesive that ensures the labels retain their adhesion, even in the harshest environments. They are able to withstand immersion in xylene for up to 15 hours and boiling water (100°C, 30 minutes) when applied to microscope slides. On smooth surface frontal cassettes, they resist both exposure and immersion in 100% ethanol for 8 hours, and in xylene and hot paraffin wax (65°C) for 2 hours.

XyliTUFF™ labels can also withstand continuous wiping and rubbing with surface sanitizing wipes including Sani-Wipe™, Eco-Wipe™ and Eco-Wipe™ Duo. Moreover, these histology labels can also resist standard gas sterilization with ethylene oxide (759 mg/L, 1 h, at 55°C, and 40-80% relative humidity). Additional preliminary testing is strongly recommended prior to use with small surface tissue cassettes, vacuum tissue processors, and automated histology slide stainers.

Labels are printable with all major brands of thermal transfer barcode printers, and can be printed with alphanumeric text, 1D and 2D barcodes and serialized numbers.
